The American Unitarian Association, concerned about the Czech refugees fleeing Sudetenland, sent Robert Dexter to Europe to assess the situation in 1938. Because of his report, the Unitarian Service Committee was formed.

All supplies and equipment sent to Poland from America left these doors before boarding ships bound for Europe.
